The foundation behind the SeedSpec protocol.
The SeedSpec Foundation is responsible for maintaining the specification and deciding how it changes. It does not operate the commercial hosting service.
The Foundation's responsibilities
Protocol maintenance
The specification, conformance rules, releases, and change history belong in a public record.
Governance
Roles, decision rights, release policy, and conflicts of interest should be explicit and inspectable.
Commercial separation
The Foundation does not sell hosting. Every implementation, including seedspec.ai, works from the same published specification.
Current governance status
The governance model is not finished. Whether the Foundation ultimately owns the protocol or stewards it on someone else's behalf is still an open decision. The answer will be documented here.
